Digital Radiology

Digital Radiology Saginaw Valley Equine Clinic

With instantaneous image acquisition and superior resolution, our Cannon based direct digital system provides our veterinarians with an immediate diagnosis and excellent high quality images on farm or in the clinic. The images can then be emailed or "burned" to a CD for our clients, referring veterinarians or referral hospitals. The images are stored on our in-house Image Server so that they are readily available to you or your veterinarian in the future. This technology helps us detect very small problems which are not visible on traditional x-rays.

Digital radiology has forced veterinarians and physicians to re-define normal as we are seeing many more structures than with conventional radiographs. Digital radiology is utilized at SVEC or at your farm to give our veterinarians the best images possible. These high-quality images are digital and therefore can be manipulated on a high-resolution monitor to enhance, magnify and contrast affected areas of bone and/or soft tissues. Once the image is transferred from the cassette to the monitor, it can be adjusted for brightness and contrast, as well as be rotated, magnified and adjusted for detail. These images can also be emailed, copied to a CD or shared over the Internet.
